The International Summit of World Leaders on Children’s Rights at the Vatican was a landmark event that brought together world leaders, experts and activists to discuss key challenges related to protecting the youngest.

A new initiative for children from Africa
During the summit, a new initiative by the 5P Europe Foundation was announced, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among children in Africa. The project, supported by Pope Francis, involves the creation of 100 sports zones in Gambia, equipped with appropriate gymnastic equipment, such as parallel bars. The foundation emphasizes that physical activity is key to children’s health, and the project aims to improve their condition and create space for development.

Ambassador of the 5P Europe Foundation, Robert Szustkowski, has been nominated as a member of the Pontifical Committee for World Children’s Day. The Pontifical Committee for World Children’s Day was created to promote the rights of the youngest. This distinction underlines his involvement in global humanitarian initiatives.
Message from Pope Francis
During the closing of the conference, Pope Francis drew attention to the dramatic situation of children in the world. He emphasized that every day 14,000 children die from preventable causes, which shows the scale of the problem. The slogan of the summit was: “Let us love and protect them”, which is to remind us of the need to care for the youngest.
The significance of the event
The summit showed that the international community recognizes the need for real action on behalf of children. It was attended by world leaders, including former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, former US Vice President Al Gore, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and Interpol chief Ahmed Naser al-Raisi.
