Children are the biggest victims of armed conflict in the world. Such was the motto of the First World Children’s Day with the Pope held in the last days of May. Organized in the spirit of peace and unity, the event brought together 50,000 children from more than 100 countries in Rome’s Olympic Stadium and St. Peter’s Square. The event was held in St. Peter’s Square, where Pope Francis presided over Sunday’s Eucharistic celebration.

The events were preceded by an International Symposium at Lums University, initiated by the 5P Global Foundation and 5P Europe. Delegates from Indonesia, Ukraine, Poland, Italy and the Middle East discussed children’s rights and the impact of armed conflicts, such as the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, on the youngest.

The symposium concluded with a private audience with Pope Francis, who expressed his support for initiatives that promote intercultural dialogue and peace. The Pope blessed all activities for children. Among those in the audience were representatives of children from Ukraine, Palestine and Indonesia, as well as 5P Global Foundation President Arsjad Rasijd, Sylwia Tubielewicz-Olejnik of 5P Europe, 5P co-founder and Secretary General Father Marcin Schmidt and 5P Foundation ambassadors.
